Background

The Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) was established in 1992 and celebrated 30 years of assisting people in debt in 2002.  Roscommon MABS was set up in 1997 and reached the milestone of 25 years in 2022.

MABS Mission Statement

Our mission is to work towards the elimination of over-indebtedness through the provision of a free, confidential, independent community and rights based Money Advice and Budgeting Service, which identifies, supports, educates and empowers those experiencing,   or who are at risk of,  over indebtedness,  and to use the knowledge and experience gained to bring about policy change.

What we do

Money advisers work with clients experiencing difficulty with a wide range of personal debts including personal loans, mortgages, credit card debt, catalogue debts, debts to legal moneylenders and hire purchases. MABS provide a wide range of money advice, debt, insolvency, budgeting, and advocacy services in over 50 locations nationwide
